One Bedroom Apartment in Apt

In a newly restored and subdivided 17th century grand home in the historic center of the town of Apt, we have a one bedroom, one bath, single story, sun filled, bright, south facing apartment redesigned in the spirit of the ancient house in which it is located. This apartment overlooks the private courtyard garden below which you are given full access to with the key left in the apartment.

The design blends a respect for the historic structure and contemporary sensibility. The furnishings are antiques found in southern France, bed linens are the finest linens and cottons. The apartment has a wood burning fireplace and a large exterior terrace off the bedroom.

The apartment has a new electrical, plumbing and heating system of hot water iron radiators with new appliances and bathroom fixtures and is approximately 450 square feet.

Everything, from parking to the butchers, bakers, cafes and restaurants, grocers, shops, pharmacies and the fabulous Saturday Market is within walking distance.

Apt is an ancient historic town dating back to the Romans. In fact this entire area dates back to the Roman Empire and this history is noted with pride in each village, town and city so you, the traveler, are more aware of this ancient, important history.. You can spend hours tracing the historic trails and visiting the ancient roman sites.. We love taking picnics and hiking or biking to these sites, spending most of our days out.

This apartment is available all year for rent. Contact us for pricing and availability.

Reviews From Some Of Our Guests:

A perfect choice

Our first trip to France and the week at this apartment was a standout. We only went out to dinner once all week and really appreciated the kitchen facilities. The photos and descriptions are accurate. We loved the local chevre, olive oil and vegetables from the farmer's markets. We drove up Mont Ventoux and marveled at the cyclists there. We rented bicycles in Apt and thoroughly enjoyed the well-marked, local bike paths in the area. We hiked in the amazing Colorado Parc and up Le Mourre Negro. We also drove to the coast one day for a boat ride in Cassis harbor. Outstanding scenery! Apt is such an unspoiled town in a central location to enjoy the Luberon and the many beautiful small towns nearby. The location of the house is quiet, due to the limited traffic in the historic district. The townspeople were sweet and friendly to us and it was just a joy to experience France this way.

Thank you, Sharon and Paul, for your attention to detail. It shows.

We had the most wonderful time, we loved it all

We had the most wonderful time, we loved it all. First and foremost, we fell in love with Apt and your apartment there. It was just what we needed, a quiet and private getaway where we could feel alone together. Apt was completely to our liking, the old streets, the markets, the down to earth quality of life there, the rhythms of the day. Bonnieux was also a favorite, and we visited many times. Also loved Buoux, Santurnin des Apt, Saignon, and more. We steered clear of tourist areas and found our way to the loveliest sites. Some days or parts of day we simply stayed in Apt and enjoyed getting to feel comfortable there. Spectacular views, produce, walks, weather, everything.

We loved a small restaurant in Saignon called La Petite Cave and we highly recommend it. Also, in Apt, we loved the winding streets behind the apartment and discovered a local scene there and a bar restaurant called Thym te Voila.

We felt so at home and so happy each day.

Thank you

We spent a bucolic two weeks . . . .

We spent a bucolic two weeks in Apt in late October and early November. The weather varied from brilliant sunshine to pre-winter. There was a cool, crisp edge to the air; the countryside was coppery and burnished.

Staying at the Mrozinski's Apt apartment added a homey and soulful dimension to our trip; the apartment served as a cozy haven. Each room is thoughtfully outfitted -- we never looked for something which was not at hand. The walls are rough plaster, Giotto-like and the furnishings vintage French antiques. Lots of texture and earth tones. Each evening after the adventures of the day we were so delighted to return to such a welcoming space.

We'd often ate supper at home, glorious grazing meals assembled from local markets' offerings perhaps following a local wine on the terrace. Cheeses, salamis, pates, quiches, fruits and vegetables, breads. Rudimentary cooking was pleasant and easy. Andthe quality of the food we purchased from markets was extraordinary. A crackling fire in the fireplace warmed the air and set an intimate mood.

We explored Apt -- everything was a quick walk from the apartment -- and especially loved the Saturday markets. And we used the town as a convenient location to drive as far afield as Aix and L'Isle sur la Sorgue or nearer towns, Loumarin, Bonnieux, Gordes, Rousillon, Saignon. Days were mellow and untouristy, a perfect time of year to enjoy the waning days of fall before winter.

Each morning we pulled aside the heavy linen drapes from the floor to ceiling garden doors to greet the world. We might loll in bed marveling at the painted ceiling which I can still see if I close my eyes. We'd have breakfast on the terrace or at the bistro table, perfect for two. And at the end of each day we'd come home to our apartment on the square and delight in fitting the key into the heavy outside door of the grand yellow house with the red shutters

We felt like we belonged. We can't wait to return.

Explorers Escape

The Apartment was the base for our initial 8 day visit to the Luberon area of Provence. It is situated in the historic centre of Apt and during our stay we experienced quiet enjoyment of all facilities and were not disturbed by any mechanical or pedestrian traffic noise. The Apartment has been restored and furnished in a manner that is sympathetic to the building's extensive history. It provides facilities that enables explorers of the Luberon area to refuel and recharge their batteries after a long day in the field and also allows them to prepare for the next day's adventures. All sites of interest (including Restaurants) within the historic town are within a few minutes walk. A fully stocked Supermarket is approximately 10 minutes walk from the Apartment. Whilst car parking is available immediately outside the Apartment, it is suggested that occupants consider using the town's public car parking facilities until they become familiar with the local street scape. A Laundry is situated with a 5 minute walk of the Apartment. All in all, we were very satisfied with the Apartment during our stay and could recommend it as a good base to explore the delights of the Region.

Another tip for motorists is to check with the Apt Tourist Information Centre to confirm the details of Car Parking restrictions for every Saturday, as the Apt Market takes over the historic town centre every Saturday.

Absolutely amazing

Words cannot begin to describe how wonderful our stay was in Apt. Partly because of the city but equally responsible would be Paul and Sharon. Their apartment is, as advertised, magnificent and they are as well. When friends ask the highlight of our trip to France the first thing we wind up saying is how amazing our apartment in Apt was. It truly was a highlight. Paul and Sharon are a pleasure to deal with and are incredibly fast in terms of responding, recommendations and overall assistance. We can't wait to visit them in Maine.

Thanks so much again!!

Hi Sharon and Paul,

What a great location. We really enjoyed APT and the beautiful hillside villages. We try to be back next year.

Thanks,

Perfect retreat.

My wife and I spent a week in the apartment in early April. Small, but tastefully appointed, with tall ceilings, a sun-trapping courtyard, and a terrace. Classy, delightful, but without any sort of slick hotel vibes. Kitchen and fireplace made it possible to cook all the great food available in local markets. Apt is a delightful town, and a good spot from which to explore the many picturesque villages of the Luberon.

In short, wonderful.
